Designing KC’s story began in the fall of 2022. Our founder encountered a business owner who struggled to clearly communicate their ideas for renovating their space, initially providing only rough sketches of the changes that they wanted. This inspired her to explore digital design, recalling the design process she had seen on HGTV. The journey of self-teaching began with a $5.99 subscription to Floor Planner, where she learned to create layouts and incorporate furniture and equipment. This passion for visualization led to her adopting increasingly more complex, professional software, with the goal of creating renderings so realistic that they could be mistaken for actual photographs.

This hands-on learning process quickly evolved from creating renderings to facilitating new construction design, honing the technical skill of drafting plan sets for the city. This expansion led to collaborations with engineers, architects, and surveyors to navigate the full plan review process. Driven by the desire to not only design but also construct, she successfully obtained a Class A general contracting license.

• Residential projects, including new construction and renovations.
• Commercial projects, encompassing new construction and renovations, such as the comprehensive interior renovation of the lobby at Match Point KC, an indoor sports club in Blue Springs, Missouri.
• Specialized and complex undertakings, like landscaping design and addressing long-standing issues such as significant water leakage and drainage system overhauls, as successfully demonstrated at Cleveland University.
• Other commercial ventures, including work on law offices and exterior renovations for a local retail district.
